Creating Chameleon Effect Fabric Texture

Here one more interesting tutorial where I’m going to show you how to create amazing fabric texture with chameleon effect using just Photoshop tools.
Let’s start with a new document. For this Photoshop tutorial I’m using a rather puny size of 700×700#7000a4, #911661 and drag a linear gradient. pixels, feel free to use a larger size though. Select some appropriate colors, for example colors of

After that use the Smudge Tool (Brush: 100px, Mode: Normal, Strength: 50%) to add a couple of paint-brush strokes.

Ok, after that create the texture. Apply Filter > Texture > Texturizer with next presets:

We made our fabric texture like on the picture below.

Let’s add some folds to our fabric. Select the Burn Tool (Brush: 100 px, Mode: Shadows, Exposure: 20%) and add a few dark lines to the canvas.

Now, apply the Dodge Tool (Brush: 100 px, Mode: Highlights, Exposure: 30%) to enhance contrast of the folds.

Reduce the brush size and add thin bright lines on the top of folds.

Looks good, isn’t it? And the last one thing that we have to do is add chameleon effect to our fabric. For this apply Quick Mask Mode with gradient as below:

Then go back to Standard Mode. Now we have some selected area.

Apply Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation (or press Ctrl+U) to selected area with similar settings to these:

Remove selection with Ctrl+D and we get the next chameleon effect:

Ok, we are done for now! Thanks for reading; I hope you enjoyed the tutorial!

How to create a ripple effect
In this tutorial we go through how to make an animated gif of a text ripple effect in adobe photoshop. Start by opening a new file of 650 by 100 pixels and type the text you would like to animate, like the text below.:.

Now create three duplicates of exactly the same text before you add the filter for the animation we are going to use. Open the original file and go to filter; distort, ripple. (see image below.)

In the ripple settings box, set the fill Amount to 100 as shown in the picture below.

Repeat this effect for the duplicates increasing the amount by 10% for each duplicate. So you have one ripple of 100% for the original, 110% for the second copy, 120% for the third and 130% for the fourth. Now open all these images in Adobe image ready to create the animation. Once you have opened the images go to window and select animation. Now do the animation as shown in the picture below. Select paste method for the frames paste after selection for each consecutive image, so you get the images in the right order. (see image below.)

Then set the image delay to 0.1 seconds and you have finished the animation, now you can save the file and preview.

10. Save the file.
